Happy Valentines's Day!

Happy Valentines Day Everyone! In an attempt to be an exciting Mommy I thought I would make heart shaped pancakes for breakfast this morning. Well, since I am not the creative one I realized I didn't have a heart shaped cookie cutter. BUT I knew there was one in the play dough stuff ;-) So I used that and actually succeeded.

Daddy's plate.

Alyssa was way excited, she just doesn't pose well for pictures.

A picture with Aiden holding his? Yeah right, give that boy food and in it goes! (Like his new haircut by the way?)
Have a Great Day!!

Yum Yum

Today was Alyssa's Valentine party at school. We were in charge of bringing the sugar cookies so the kids could decorate them and have them for snack. There were 2 leftover so her teacher sent them back home with us. Aiden was holding the container and playing with it so I just let him hang on to it for the short ride home. Halfway there I hear "OH NO MOMMY, get them get them!!" Aiden had gotten the container open (you know the bakery ones that are near impossible for adults to open). At first Alyssa was all upset...until she realized he would share his goldmine with her. Oh well, that takes care of the extra cookies sitting around the house, right?

Mouth full and crumbs EVERYWHERE. The car needed a good vacuuming anyways ;-)

While we are on the subject of food, here is how Alyssa watched her movie the other night.

And Aiden looking for more food...

...maybe if I get my head right in here he will share?

On another note, Dad is coming home from the hospital today and has been cleared to travel with us to Disney on Tuesday. Yipee!! We are sooo ready for this much needed vacation.
Thanks for all your prayers!!
Be watching for an exciting post after Disney :-)

One less job

Today I realized that I have one less job to do during the day. Apparently Aiden has taken over my story reading while Alyssa is in bathroom. I heard Aiden open the bathroom door and Alyssa say "It's okay Mom, Aiden is gonna read me a story." I peered around the corner to check out the situation. This is what I found:

Aiden picking out a book from the stool.

Are you ready?

"eh this ah sa" (etc, etc)
It was really precious!!

Bad Luck...

Alyssa landed herself in the hospital again this week. Yes, Again, that is 2 times in less than 2 months. Apparently she gets dehydrated very quickly and easily. This time it started with me being up with the stomach flu all night Friday night, Aiden woke up around 3:30 am Saturday with it. I pulled myself out of bed around 4 pm Saturday and started my disinfecting process, finished and got in the shower...just to hear Todd yell that Alyssa just got sick. We decide to make her a bed in the theater room on the floor to keep Aiden away from her (he was already back to normal & the rest of the house was already disinfected). So we then took turns with her during the day and I slept on the floor next to her Saturday & Sunday night. She is like the never ending puking girl...sorry if this is too much info. And it's like she doesn't even know what is going on. You have to almost constantly stare at her and predict that the bowl is needed. Hence the reason for me "sleeping" on the floor next to her. By Monday morning it was evident she needed to go to the Doctor for at least some anti-nausea meds. No such luck, they pretty much looked at her and said she was going nowhere but the hospital across the street. (Me fighting back tears, poorly). Poor baby girl, this time she knew what they were going to do to her and was pretty upset. But overall she did really well getting the IV and 2 sets of lab work. Her labs were actually worse than when she was admitted in December. The Doctor said she just has "bad luck". They assure me there is nothing more I can do. So now I am hoping and praying that this is the last of the "bad luck" she will encounter for a while. Thanks Grandma Raines, Maw Maw, and Aunt Sarah for all the help of taking care of Aiden while I stayed at the hospital. We would not have gotten through this again without you!!!

On a side note, at some point Sunday night Alyssa said "Mommy, you need to get my duck bracelet, tape it back together and take me to the hospital." She was referring to her name band we cut off her arm and saved after her last hospital stay. She must have been feeling really bad :(

Anyways, I can assure you Alyssa is back to normal. Thank God she bounces back so quickly! And Aiden is more than happy to be back into our normal routine...and of course be able to hug his sister!
