I have had a lot on my mind this week. I won't go into detail, but wanted to share a moment. I was getting ready to fix lunch one day and Aiden was screaming, trying to climb my leg and I had a lot on my mind. I stopped what I was doing and closed my eyes and prayed. Alyssa saw me from the family room and came over to the island, climbed on the bar stool and said in a very quiet voice "Mommy, may I pray with you?" Wow, here is my 3 year old daughter that saw need in my face and wanted to join me in my prayer to our Sovereign God.
"Yes Alyssa, please pray with me."

Is This Boys?!
I know I have showed some pictures of Aiden lately doing "mischievous" things. Now I am just wondering if this is just how boys are and I need to accept it? When he first started to do things that Alyssa never did, I thought he had just learned them from his big sister. I mean, Todd and I never went around opening drawers and shutting them just to teach her how they worked. So she never knew they even opened until she was at an age where she used them for things...and could open and close them without fingers in the way. So now our end table is turned so the drawer faces the wall. (I think my husband is brilliant ;-) This, of course, was just the start. Now he has become my little climber. Alyssa never and I mean never, not even now, climbed on things. So now I know this did not come by following an example. I came home from the dentist one day and Todd asked when Aiden started climbing on the kitchen chairs. My answer "while I was at the dentist." Now the boy climbs on everything!! So now I guess I can not leave the room, like ever, because this is what I may find:
Seriously...look at that face. He knows he's up to no good!!! Moments later I pulled him off the end table just seconds before his planned dive onto the couch. Any ideas on what to do with this. Since I can't really nail his "climbing" chairs to the table??
Alyssa likes to just roll around in it, crawl in it, make snow angels. Anything to be just about submerged in it. The cold does not bother her at all. At one point she had a boot off (don't ask), and was just trying to put the snow filled thing back on. I have to bribe her to come in when her cheeks are so red they make my face hurt.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the snow. It is so pretty and the kids love to play in it. We got bundled up and met Todd out front as he was snow blowing.

It's been cold!
Just a warning this will be a long picture post of random events in our house over the past two weeks...
It was cold this past week, not just cold, freezing. My outdoor thermometer said "LO" for over 2 days because it was soo cold. We had to get creative not to be overcome by the closing in 4 walls as we (I mean the kids) were stuck in for a bit. Lets just say I was very Thankful to start a new Bible study on Thursday night. Which I am very excited about by the way, not only to grow in Christ, but with the other wonderful girls in it.
Anyways, I ended up posting the pictures in a very odd order so I will just ramble...
We did a lot of baking, this day was muffins for our Tuesday morning MOPS meeting. We made sour cream blueberry ones and luckily they tasted better than they looked.
PLEEEAAAASSSEEE just pick me up Mom!!! He is still very attached to me, all the time.
Cute pic, too bad I don't let them sit on the hearth. I believe Aiden said "UH OH" right before he backed in and sat down. That's what he says right before he does anything he is not supposed to do. His other favorite word is "this", he will point all over the room at whatever he wants and just say "this this this." Then this morning Alyssa was watching TV and Aiden got the remote and turned the channel. Once the screen went fuzzy he held up the remote and said "This This!"

This is what happens...
While I try and put groceries away.
Scenario one: When you don't play your Mii for a year (but funny, only Mom's aged this bad). She had a little trouble with the round of tennis. We thought maybe if she opened her eyes she would do better. Scenario two: When my husband goes in and changes Mom's Mii...only because he loves you!
Whenever my brother Todd is around, Alyssa curls up next to him as he texts nonstop. Until she convinces him to let her play with his phone (which makes me nervous because apparently you can not buy insurance for Blackberry's).

We never go anywhere because quite frankly I like my kids to sleep in their own beds...at a decent hour. AND then I can be in bed by 12:01 am provided my company leaves at the first hints...HA...only they know how true this is!!
I was going to recap 2008, but honestly isn't that what my whole blog is anyways?? So sorry no recapping here (this year anyways).
Hope everyone's New Year is off to a great start!
