Is This Boys?!

I know I have showed some pictures of Aiden lately doing "mischievous" things. Now I am just wondering if this is just how boys are and I need to accept it? When he first started to do things that Alyssa never did, I thought he had just learned them from his big sister. I mean, Todd and I never went around opening drawers and shutting them just to teach her how they worked. So she never knew they even opened until she was at an age where she used them for things...and could open and close them without fingers in the way. So now our end table is turned so the drawer faces the wall. (I think my husband is brilliant ;-) This, of course, was just the start. Now he has become my little climber. Alyssa never and I mean never, not even now, climbed on things. So now I know this did not come by following an example. I came home from the dentist one day and Todd asked when Aiden started climbing on the kitchen chairs. My answer "while I was at the dentist." Now the boy climbs on everything!! So now I guess I can not leave the room, like ever, because this is what I may find:

Seriously...look at that face. He knows he's up to no good!!! Moments later I pulled him off the end table just seconds before his planned dive onto the couch. Any ideas on what to do with this. Since I can't really nail his "climbing" chairs to the table??
So after I rescued Aiden from his many adventures this morning we went out to play in the snow we got last night. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the snow. It is so pretty and the kids love to play in it. We got bundled up and met Todd out front as he was snow blowing.

Alyssa likes to just roll around in it, crawl in it, make snow angels. Anything to be just about submerged in it. The cold does not bother her at all. At one point she had a boot off (don't ask), and was just trying to put the snow filled thing back on. I have to bribe her to come in when her cheeks are so red they make my face hurt.

Aiden walking down the sidewalk. He fell into the snow at one point and didn't move an inch. Like he had frozen to the ground (or maybe he couldn't get up). I scooped him up and he just kept going.

About to fall off the back of the sled. It was only on our drive, and Todd was pulling him up. We then added Alyssa to the back.

Fun Stuff!!

I wouldn't necessarily say is a boy thing. I recall Gracie going through a "monkey stage" where she was always climbing. One day, I left her in the kitchen long enough for me to use the restroom and came back to find her on the kitchen counter trying figure out how to get on the fridge. I'd say you just got lucky with Alyssa... and don't turn your back on Aiden... or fit him for a helmet to protect his little head cuz he's bound to fall.

I love the snow pictures! We played outside today and I had to make them come in too! I agree that maybe you just got lucky with Alyssa on the climbing...both of mine have been known to climb on anything! Good luck!

I'd say it's most definately a boy and tomboy thing. Little princesses wouldn't be caught dead doing that...

Logan climbed the cat tower at 2 and fell off and broke his arm. Did he STOP climbing the darn thing? no.

best bet is to actually let him loose one day, watch what most takes your breath away that he climbs on and remove it. The rest, invest in throw pillows. Plant them strategically.

I am with you on this. I mean every time i walk out of the room for split second Mattox is on top of something. Which explains why I am getting to know the Home hospital staff fairly well. I am just thankful Jill is there 95% of the time i have to take Mr. Dare Child to the ER. When you figure this out call me. Till then he may be duck taped to the floor...:oP

Thanks for the comments. Oh my Jen...the fridge? Kids are crazy!! So far a lot of "NO NO's" have actually seemed to work, and I have removed some "step ladders" from the area. Jodi, the duck tape thing cracked me up, much needed laugh ;-)
